As a child welfare attorney and guardian ad litem, Mr. Hixson takes great pride in giving back to his community by using his education and training to help local children, parents, and custodians through difficult and confusing times.
Mr. Hixson earned his bachelor’s degree at The Ohio State University, graduating in 2017, and earned his law degree at The Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law, graduating in 2020. He was born and raised in Zanesville, Ohio, graduating from John Glenn High School in 2012. He was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio in 2020 is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Muskingum County Bar Association.
In his free time, Mr. Hixson enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, golfing, and cheering on his Buckeyes, Bengals, Reds, and Blue Jackets.
Representative Experience
- Has successfully represented parents, custodians, and children in abuse, neglect, and dependency cases involving Children Services/Job and Family Services in Juvenile Court in Muskingum and surrounding counties.
- Certified as a Guardian ad Litem by the Supreme Court of Ohio and has taken numerous appointments representing the best interests of minor children in Muskingum, Morgan, Coshocton, Guernsey, and Licking Counties in both abuse/neglect/dependency and domestic cases.
- Has successfully represented minors in misdemeanor and felony delinquency cases in Juvenile Court in Muskingum and surrounding counties.
- Has over a decade of experience performing title searches and examinations, including oil & gas and mineral searches.
- Has assisted numerous clients with their real estate transactions, including closing.
- Has prepared numerous real estate documents, including deeds, purchase contracts, land contracts, and leases, among others.
- Has successfully defended criminal cases involving a variety of offenses.
